Imagine all your post stacking up the whole front/home page, it was really annoying. My readers could read all my content directly from the home page. I needed a “read more tag”. Some people says it helps generate more traffic to your blog, it doesn’t just do that. It also helps keep your blogs interface very simple and constructive.

Blogger Usually call it a “jump break”. WordPress calls it the “ read more tag ”. I experienced this problem when I began blogging, so I decided to share exactly how I solved this issue to you guys.

Creating a Read More Tag in WordPress

On your WordPress dashboard, put your cursor where you want the “read more” text to go and click on the Insert More Tag button (or click Alt + Shift + T).

If you hover over the button, it will indicate that it’s the Insert Read More Tag button.
Easy, right?

In WordPress practically all bloggers uses different plugins to personalize their blogs, there’s a plugin called “auto limit post” plugin, install and this should do the work for you without you having to add the read more Tag all by yourself, it does the work for you.

If you really good with HTML codes.. You can easily add the HTML read more code in the text section. Here is it  <!–more–>

Creating a Jump Break in Blogger

It’s pretty much the same method, just…

Navigate to your Blogger dashboard, put your cursor where you want the “Read more Tag” to go and click on the Insert More Tag button (or click Alt + Shift + T).

Jump Break not working on Blogger?
If simply using the “jump break” button on Blogger does not work, it may be that you are using an older template or that you’ve mucked around too much in your template HTML and need to reset your template.

Creating a Read More Tag via HTML

You can create a read more tag on any blogging platform by going into the HTML of the post and inserting the following HTML code <!–more–> wherever you want your post to break and jump to another page: <!–more–>

Am sure it helped. Now you can add “read more tag” to your post, keep it simple and sure to get one more click on every post.
