USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a cable used to connect your device to your PC while some people use it for charging. Its functionality vary from one cable to another due to differences in its build. Do you particularly know how to identify original and fake USB cables or cords?
If you aren’t using the quality USB cords you will likely experience delay in charging or experience partial contact while connected to your device, have you read my post on how to speed up charging on your Android device. Some of these fake cords can also make your device extremely hot when plugged in. So this brings me to the discovery on how you will identify original and fake USB cables before buying them.
How to Identify Original USB Cables/Cords
When you take a good look at your USB , you will see two holes that reveals the bus/contact. What you should look out for is the colour of the conductor inside it. If its colour is gold then that means its copper. Copper has relatively high conductivity and tensile strength than aluminium
“Before buying a USB cable make sure the contact inside is Gold in colour and not Aluminum.”
How to Identify Fake USB Cables/Cords
How do you know a USB cord is fake, its simple; look directly at the contact inside the two holes found in your cable… If this contact is aluminum, it means your cable is definitely fake! Why? The conductivity power of Aluminium is relatively low, although it has about 60% conductivity power of copper but more importantly it’s tensile strength can contain a lot of stress which means it is very low and could likely led to fluctuation during usage. These type of cables usually experience partial contact during use.
Did you know? Aluminium is way cheaper than copper that’s why manufacturers use it more to produce cheap and inferior products.
Guys shine your eyes well well o! See the featured image; it clearly shows the holes and bus inside the cable is made with copper which makes it original. Make sure your are buying original USB cables instead of fake ones that could do no good to your device, in addition you should look out for these properties in USB modems, they are also built with either of the two especially those ones you call universal cables… They are usually made with aluminium which makes them fake. It better to buy original modems and crack/unlock ’em.
